Embodied AI Agents, Robotics, and IoT

Call for papers

We invite research on AI for embodied agents, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and connected systems. The track brings together work in machine learning, sensing, reasoning, and decision making, with applications across a wide range of domains.

We welcome researchers, practitioners, and students from AI and related fields. Contributions may be theoretical, algorithmic, or applied, including early-stage work and studies using simulation or existing datasets. Papers may focus on a method, a component, or a complete system. A robotics background or a physical robot demonstration is not required.

Topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Machine learning and deep learning for sensor data and connected systems
• Embodied AI, intelligent agents, foundation models, and world models
• Artificial life
• Computer vision, perception, sensor fusion, and multimodal learning
• Localization and mapping
• Reasoning, planning, reinforcement learning, and decision making
• IoT, edge AI, embedded intelligence, and efficient computing
• Multi-agent systems, distributed and federated learning, and robot coordination
• Human-AI and human-robot interaction
• Explainability, uncertainty, trust, safety, security, privacy, and ethics
• Simulation, digital twins, datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation
• Applications in healthcare, smart environments, agriculture, transport, and industry

Important dates

All deadlines are 23:59 Anywhere on Earth and follow the FLAIRS-40 schedule.

Submission

Submit through the FLAIRS-40 EasyChair site and select the Embodied AI Agents, Robotics, and IoT track. Submission is a two-step process: register the paper abstract by January 22, 2027, then upload the PDF by February 1, 2027. A paper cannot be submitted without an abstract registered on time.

Paper types

• Full paper. Mature novel research, up to 6 pages excluding references at submission. Accepted full papers appear with up to 7 pages in the proceedings and receive a 20-minute oral presentation.
• Short paper. Work of some novelty and general interest that is preliminary or at an early stage, up to 4 pages excluding references. Accepted short papers appear with up to 5 pages and receive a 10-minute oral presentation.
• Poster paper. Up to 2 pages excluding references, presented in the poster session. Poster papers have a later deadline; see the dates above.

A rejected full paper may still be accepted as a short paper or poster when reviewers find the idea interesting but the paper is not ready for full-length publication.

Format and review

Papers must use the FLAIRS-40 template and be submitted as PDF. Reviewing is double-blind, so submissions must not carry author names or affiliations. Appendices placed after the references are permitted at submission but may not be reviewed, and they are not permitted in the final version. Papers are reviewed by the track program committee, which is sized so that each paper can receive four reviews. Papers by the track chairs are reviewed by the general conference program committee, with decisions made by the FLAIRS-40 program co-chairs.

Policies

FLAIRS will not accept a paper that is under review for, or already published or accepted in, a journal or another conference, and authors may not submit the paper elsewhere during the review period. Workshops and similar presentations without archival proceedings are exempt. Author names may not be changed or reordered after reviewing. Every accepted paper needs at least one author registration, which covers up to two papers, and at least one author must attend the conference in person to present. Proceedings are published by Florida Online Journals and indexed in DBLP and Scopus.
